Community service is not simply a duty, it is a fulfilling opportunity to connect with people and make a positive impact in our local communities. This philosophy is the main reason I joined Rotary last year. As a Parker, CO resident and a community engagement enthusiast, my mission is to actively contribute to and uplift our neighborhood.
Last Saturday marked a special day for those of us committed to making a difference - it was Rotary International's Epic Day of Service. I had the distinct pleasure of joining my fellow Rotarians at Affinity Ranch, a remarkable place that serves as a nurturing sanctuary for therapy and community. The ranch provides therapeutic riding for individuals with physical and emotional challenges, offering a blend of nature, animals, and care that promotes healing and growth.
Our task was as meaningful as the cause: some of us took to painting fences, refreshing the spaces where countless individuals find joy and solace, while others got their hands dirty in the sensory garden, planting new life that will soon blossom into a spectrum of sensory experiences for future visitors.
Getting involved in community service through Rotary has been an enriching experience, and I encourage everyone to explore the joy of giving. Whether it’s by wielding a paintbrush or planting a seed, every little bit contributes to a larger story of hope and community.
