Celebrating Women in Real Estate: A Day of Inspiration at Wired Event

September 24, 2025

“Give Yourself Grace.”

~ Katie Kruger

Introduction:

I was delighted to have the opportunity to attend the bi-annual Wired event at the Cable Center in Denver, and let me tell you, it was an absolute blast! This event was an electrifying celebration of women in real estate, a field that was once considered a male-dominated industry. But on this day, the Cable Center was filled with strong, empowered women who are making waves and reshaping the real estate landscape. Here is a recap of the remarkable day that left me feeling inspired and motivated to be a part of this incredible community.

Four Hours of Pure Admiration and Inspiration:

A Heartfelt Dedication

The event kicked off with a touching dedication by DMAR President Jessica Reinhardt. She paid tribute to her mother, Jan Reinhardt, a long-time real estate powerhouse. It was a poignant reminder of the incredible legacy that women have created in this industry.

Seizing Now with Simone Ross

The first keynote speaker, Simone Ross, CEO of the Colorado Women's Chamber of Commerce, wowed us with her insights on "Seizing Now." Simone is a visionary integrator with an impressive track record in executive leadership. Her recipe for success was both enlightening and empowering. She emphasized the importance of giving ourselves grace, a valuable reminder in our often-demanding lives.

Simone's diverse professional background, spanning the private sector and various company sizes, demonstrated her adaptability and drive. Her journey was a testament to the limitless possibilities within any industry.

A Realtor®'s Journey

The event also featured a captivating panel discussion moderated by Bailey Dolian. Aline Pitney, Lisa Nguyen, and Jan Reinhardt shared their struggles and triumphs, offering a glimpse into the multi-faceted world of real estate. Their experiences resonated with everyone in the audience, proving that success in this field is attainable through hard work and perseverance.

Katie Kruger: A True Badass

The highlight of the day was the appearance of Katie Kruger, the Senior Managing Director at CBRE – Colorado. Katie's journey is nothing short of incredible. She overcame personal and professional challenges with unwavering determination. Her story of resilience and her "journey inward", as well as her significant impact on the real estate industry, left us in awe.

Katie's role as a leader in various aspects of real estate showcased her versatility and her dedication to making a difference. Her commitment to helping the next generation of real estate professionals succeed is truly commendable. She is, without a doubt, a true badass in our industry.

Women Shaping Corporate Leadership

Katie then led an inspiring panel discussion on "Women Shaping Corporate Leadership: Insights From The Boardroom." The panel included remarkable women like Michele Ashby, Trace Arlaud, Kay Henze, and Gretchen Rosenberg. These women have broken barriers and demonstrate that they can not only compete but also excel in powerful boardrooms.

Michele Ashby's mission to train and certify 1000 women to secure board seats is a testament to her dedication to empowering women in real estate. Her unique approach combines effective behaviors with empathy and problem-solving skills, paving the way for more women to occupy these influential positions.

Excellence Is Not an Accident with Leslie Maxie

The event wrapped up with Leslie Maxie, an Olympian, sportscaster, and entrepreneur. Leslie captivated us with her remarkable journey, from setting world records in her youth to her outstanding career in broadcast journalism and beyond.

Her insights on achieving excellence through different paths – chance, default, force, and flow – were enlightening. The concept of "flow" was particularly powerful, emphasizing the importance of gratitude in creating space for success.

Leslie's call to action, asking us to reflect on our journeys to excellence, left us with a newfound sense of purpose. I, for one, am eager to take up this challenge and share my own stories of success.

Conclusion:

This Wired event was a celebration of women in real estate like no other. It showcased the incredible achievements, resilience, and diversity within the industry. These women have proven that success knows no gender and that the world is wide open for those who dare to be creative and brave.

I left the event feeling inspired, motivated, and proud to be a part of such an incredible community of women in real estate. The message was clear: whether you're an aspiring real estate professional or a seasoned veteran, there's a place for you, and together, we can shape the future of this dynamic industry. So, ladies, don't miss the next Wired event – it's an experience that's bound to leave you empowered and ready to conquer the world!
